Hello!

Long absence from my blog...not that it matters much! It's been a busy few weeks for us with our kids visiting, my friend from Tomball came for a 4 day crop at my house, doing a few house repairs (not fun) and celebrating our 33rd anniversary. Wow! Now that is truly amazing! All the Lord's doing for sure. He has been so very gracious to us in our marriage and we owe all those years to Him alone.
I struggled to make this year's card for some reason...nothing was coming to mind for a design and I almost didn't get dh's card made. But at the llth hour I got some inspiration (not what I thought I'd make) but it works.

So I got some advice from the Sony flickr group on how to take pictures of my cards...Idk...I think I'm just permanently photo-challenged!

This card is not great to me. I guess I was trying to think of something different than what I usually do for him and as I was going through my stamp sets, the American Made by Gina K Designs caught my eye and thought I'd try to use it. I really do like that much of it. I embossed with with silver glitter embossing powder and like how the rays sparkle. I think it might be the color of the base card. Normally I love PTI's Aqua Mist but not today.

Oh well, it's all good. Dh loved it and that's what counts.

Gotta share this short story with you. Sunday, my dh brought home a $2,000 steam cleaner he bought for work. He was going to attack the grout in the hall bath. When he was through he said the steamer would work well on carpet stains, so he set me up with it in the living room and I went to work on some of the spots in front of our sofa. After a bit I noticed a green stain setting into our light carpet and called my husband in for a look. He had outfitted the head of the steamer attachment with a green microfiber cloth that they use at work. He said "Oh it's probably just lint from the microfiber." So I switched the cloth out for an old terry towel and tried to clean up the "lint"...after a few minutes without budging the green stain I said "Uh no dear, this is not lint." and his face immediately fell. Suffice it to say, we now have a largish green stain in front of our sofa ...but it did remove the original stains I was trying to clean! hahaha

thanks for stopping by,

Kathy
